In Nov.1990 my National Guard Unit, the 233rd Military Police Company was activated for duty in Operation Desert Shield (and ultimately Desert Storm) We were there until May 1991.Our Unit was responsible for the processing and evacuation of over 10,000 Iraqi prisoners of war; and area/route security. Mission accomplished! Here are some photos I dug up and thought might be of interest.

A turning point in the ground war came when coalition forces, advancing on Kuwait City, forced the Iraqi's to flee out of Kuwait City. They fled in any type vehicle they could get.As they retreated, they came to a bottle neck in the highway called either Jahra or Ab-dahliey(sp?). There they were annihilated by coalition Aircraft. These photos were taken there after combat engineers had bulldozed a path through the area.
